Studio UPLA is a nomadic and transdisciplinary design practice led by Anna Gasco, who is also Head of Urbanism at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture. Dedicated to spatial design, research and education, our work prioritises ethical forms of urbanism by focusing on cities as sites of Post Growth Transition with climate and social justice at its core. Our experience ranges from large-scale master planning to a wide variety of projects, contexts, and briefs. Beyond design, we believe teaching and research are valuable tools to foster change in our world. Our holistic approach to the built environment is nurtured by long-term experience at renowned practices and academic institutions, such as Harvard GSD, ETH Zurich, the National University of Singapore and the Amsterdam University of the Arts. Studio UPLA is based in Amsterdam and Singapore, and operates internationally.
